Oils - Maria Fragoudaki

Behind each painting there is the same strong need for communication and expression. My paintings are the medium. The canvas sets the space in which the paints are moving creating images of my strongest emotions.
Life experiences – mine and those of others- are sources of inspiration. They lead the first strokes of the brush and set the basic structure of each painting. Then, seeing the finished image on my mind, I get absorbed, lost, in the painting until the image is captured on the canvas.
Through my paintings I try to establish a private dialogue, an interaction with the viewer. Depending in the emotions of the viewer, each time the dialogue takes a different path, leading to new places.
